Lucy Liu is an American actress voice actress director producer and singer. A beautiful and smart actress, she's an inspiration to many Asian actors who wish to make it big in Hollywood. Following a string of appearances on popular television series and movies, she gained fame when she was cast as a character in Ally McBeal legal comedy where she played Ling Woo. In the wake of her popularity, she was offered important roles on the shows Shanghai Noon (1998) and Charlie's Angels (2000). Her performance was outstanding as Japanese O-Ren, a gangster from Japan (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. In the same time frame she also acted as the lead in a few flops in the field including Rise: Blood Hunter. Then, she was able to voice prominent characters in animation films, such as Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason's small-screen role as a character in Cashmere Mafia did not produce any results. Southland - a critically acclaimed crime drama that established Liu as an actress of the future.
